Lynx U12 vs Belfast match report

With a full season causing pressure on being able to secure ice time at the Linx Ice Arena for all our teams, it was a trip up to Elgin for the first home game of the season for the Lynx U12s.

The game started quickly with Belfast taking the lead after 3 mins. The Lynx battled hard, and were rewarded with a great team goal scored by William Loov, assisted by Rebecca Goldring and Cameron Bain. Belfast went ahead again after 13 mins scoring short handed. However, with the Lynx on the power play Bain scored 51 seconds after Belfast. 2-2 after the 1st.

Into the second period the Lynx went 2 goals ahead with some good passing from Dylan Stubbs and Gregor Gordon to setup Cooper Colley for the 3rd. Caleb McKenzie scored the 4th with some good play beating 3 players and a nice shot into the roof of the net. Belfast answered back late in the second with 2 goals. The end of the second the Lynx were 5-4 up.

The start of the 3rd had the Lynx D working hard to clear the puck and some good saves made from Lucas Tippet in the Lynx net. Belfast scored twice in a few mins. Before a great goal by Goldring. With the score at 6-6 the Lynx were battling hard for the win but Belfast scored 3 unanswered goals to take the points with a 9-6. The team played some great hockey and were unlucky to be beaten.
