Double success for Lynx U16s

Man of the Match for Lynx U 16s On Sunday – Thom Jacobs

First up was Lanarkshire at home on Saturday evening. The Lynx were on excellent form and hungry from the start.

A fantastic goal from Daniel McGillicuddy saw the Lynx take the lead after 2 minutes with Lanarkshire responding soon after. A tight 1st ended 1-1.

The 2nd period saw the Lynx send 3 more goals into the back of the net from Shay Stephen, Logan Gordon and Lennon Stephen. A flurry of penalties at the end of the 2nd led to a busy penalty box for the Lynx but they held Lanarkshire off well with some excellent defensive work.

4-1 to the Lynx at he start of the 3rd period and Lanarkshire netted their second goal of the night. The Lynx responded with a further 2 goals from Logan Gordon to finish the game 6-2 Lynx.

Some excellent team work, defensive play and passing.

Sunday saw the 16s head to Dundee in a highly anticipated game. Both teams were there to win, and there was plenty of action to keep the crowd entertained.

Shay Stephen was to score the opener after 9 minutes. A tight 1st period with Dundee unable to get anything past Lynx netminder Thom Jacobs.

Into the 2nd and Dundee were to score an equaliser. With even shot on goals the 2nd finished 1-1.

A superb 3rd period saw Jess Bridger score to take the Lynx into the lead once more, with a 3rd goal from Zac Thomson to seal the win for the Lynx.

An edge of the seat game ending a fantastic weekend of hockey and team work from the Lynx 16s
