It’s 30 years since Ice Hockey started in Aberdeen, so to mark this milestone we’ve brought back a piece of Aberdeen Ice Hockey history with this retro warm up jersey.
The warm up shirt is a throwback to one of the clubs original jerseys. Aberdeen Flames U18’s took inspiration from the Calgary Flames, and their shirt became one of the Club’s most iconic jerseys for years to come.
You can see below we have some of the original team pictures from 97/98 and if you look closely see if you can spot the young captain of the team Fraser MacEachran and his brother Calum! Many more of the boys in the team pictures went on to play for the Aberdeen Alligators and the Lynx too.
The NEW flames top is an updated version of the original with the addition of the Lynx logo on the shoulders and featuring our warm up sponsor Singularity Sauce.
Original Flames player Fraser MacEqachran said, The team has talked about a retro flames type jersey for a number of years, something a bit different from our usual core tops. With timing of the hot sauce link it just makes sense and it’s such a cool throwback from when we played jnr hockey in Aberdeen.
