Edinburgh Capitals V Aberdeen Lynx
Apart from the Paisley Pirates the Capitals are the only team to have beaten the Lynx this season.(Scottish cup second leg) The Caps have also beaten the Pirates and the Comets in the League and on their day can be formidable opponents for anyone, particularly at home.
After last weeks 3-1 win against the Dundee Tigers the Lynx could travel to the Capital with a slim chance of the SNL title. However, the title may have already been decided by events in Dundee on Saturday night. Paisley Pirates, with victory against the Tigers on Saturday will secure the 2016/17 league title. On paper, Paisley are very strong favourites to defeat the Tigers and secure the title but the Tigers were no walkover for the Lynx last Saturday and at home can be a difficult challenge for any team. They secured a draw with the Lynx at home earlier in the season and are capable of doing the same (hopefully better) against the Pirates. I, for one will be making the short journey down to the Dundee Ice Arena on Saturday @7.30pm to give my best “#letsgotigers” hoping they can overcome an excellent Paisley side and do the Lynx a favour!
Irrespective of Saturdays result the Lynx should need no motivation to win against the Caps and need to be on top form to secure the 2 points that will consolidate their position and help keep a high flying Comets team beneath them in the standings.
This is an exciting last 2 weeks to excellent SNL campaign by the Lynx and we still have the Play-Offs to look forward to!
